Pictureon the train from Graz to Vienna, Austria

I first became really interested in travel when I studied abroad in Mérida, Mexico as a college student at Ohio University. I loved the country and my experience there so much so that I ended up returning the following year and added Spanish as my second major.

These study abroad experiences were my first outside of the country, and I absolutely fell in love with the idea of seeing the world.

My husband also studied abroad in college (Rome, Italy) and dreamed of international adventures in his future, so we make a good match!

Before working in the travel industry, I taught high school Spanish for five years and then pre-k and kindergarten Spanish. I started working as a travel agent at Destination Travel Company in 2012, and in 2019 accepted a position with KHM Travel Group as a copywriter with the marketing team.

I also work at Westlake Travel (Encompass the World Travel), KHM Travel Group's retail location, on occasion.

My husband and I are not overly picky about our travel destinations, but we particularly love the sunshine and turquoise waters of the Caribbean. The most fun we have ever had on vacation was visiting Walt Disney World in 2010 – we still talk about that trip constantly, and I love helping clients plan their Disney vacations! The most incredible trip we have taken was to Austria, which is amazingly beautiful and full of warm people.

On our travel bucket list: We hope to sail with Princess Cruises for a Scandinavian itinerary, and also see Alaska from both land and sea. We would love to attend summer Olympics events one day, too! Other destinations we hope to visit include Costa Rica, Spain, and Tahiti & the Society Islands.

When I am not traveling or helping others travel, I love to read, watch movies, spend time outdoors, roller skate, cook awesome vegan food, play board games, and do crafty things like sew or scrapbook.

My husband and I are parents to a 6 year old girl and a Bichon Frise we rescued 13 years ago.

Creating vacations that mesh with your interests:
I listen to my clients so I can learn about their interests, preferred amenities, and desired vacation experiences so I can find the best matches in resorts, cruise lines, tours, etc.
Uncovering the best prices and schedules to meet your needs:
Let me know which travel dates are best for you, and I will explore all options so we can find the best deal within your budget. If you're flexible, or would like to compare different dates, we can do that too!
Booking cruise vacations and assisting with excursion planning:
My training and personal experiences will help you find the best cruise line, ship, and itinerary for you, so that you can have the most fun on your vacation. I will use my knowledge and experiences in various ports to help you determine the activities you will most enjoy while docked.
Reserving hotel rooms and airport transfers:
Hotels and transfers are not the most glamorous aspect of vacation planning, but they are necessities. I can assist you with these tedious arrangements, and even use my travel agent resources to uncover the best available rates. As of spring 2017, I am no longer assisting with rental car arrangements.
Creating specialty tour packages:
In-depth vacations require in-depth knowledge, particularly if you are traveling abroad. We can work together to create a package that eliminates your planning stress and combines your desired destinations with great activities and ease of travel.
Assisting groups with travel plans:
Managing a group of any size when making travel plans is a tedious task, and one that should always include an experienced travel agent in charge of the details. From family cruises to an all-inclusive extravaganza among friends, I can accommodate all guests to ensure plans go smoothly.
Arranging special events such as destination weddings and honeymoons:
My first experience with a travel agent (at the agency I now work for!) was when my husband and I were planning our honeymoon, and my now-coworkers were incredibly helpful. I really enjoy the excitement of working with brides and grooms, and do my very best to keep stress levels at a minimum while having fun in the process. Weddings and honeymoons are very special, and I want you to have an incredibly memorable experience.
Offering travel insurance:
Because it is better to be safe than sorry, we can assist you in purchasing travel insurance for your vacation. If you are making your plans with me, I will help you choose the best protection for your trip.
Advising clients on various travel regulations and tips:
It is normal to have questions throughout the booking process and in preparation for your vacation, and I understand how to best prepare you for your travels. I answer emails in a timely fashion and provide helpful handouts for your particular trip (if applicable).
